Green Translations is the project through which Way2Global turns its environmental commitment into concrete, measurable actions. We are a Benefit Corporation and a certified B Corp, committed to generating positive social, governance, and environmental impact.

What is the Green Translations project?

With Green Translations, we integrate environmental sustainability practices and initiatives into our business processes. Our approach is based on a structured model for measuring, reducing, and offsetting emissions, with the aim of reducing our negative impact and operating as a Climate Positive company, meaning a company capable of removing more CO₂ than it generates.

This path is part of our commitment to achieving the net-zero goal, which means reducing and balancing greenhouse gas emissions until a net-zero climate impact is achieved.

In addition to the actions taken internally, over the years we have joined national and international initiatives and frameworks dedicated to decarbonization and climate transition.

We have also translated this commitment into a formal responsibility by integrating it into our corporate bylaws as a Benefit Corporation, in line with the path promoted by CO2alizione Italia, an association of which we are among the first members.

Why we invest in environmental sustainability

We believe that companies operating in the service sector can also actively contribute to reducing environmental impact through more conscious organizational, operational, and technological choices.

Although our language solutions are digital services, structurally less impactful than other production sectors, we have chosen to act on our business processes to reduce the emissions associated with our activities, extending this commitment throughout our supply chain: employees, suppliers, and partners are an integral part of the journey.

For this reason, we adopt practices focused on efficiency and emissions prevention, working on digitalization, work organization, and development of a sustainable supply chain involving the entire network of stakeholders with whom we operate.

The actions behind the Green Translations project

The Green Translations project is based on a set of structured actions that guide our decarbonization journey and environmental impact management:

  • Measurement of the climate footprint according to the GHG Protocol, the most widely used international standard for calculating and monitoring greenhouse gas emissions generated by business activities.
  • Reduction of emissions at the source through internal practices such as process digitalization, reduced travel, and the adoption of more efficient organizational models.
  • Development of a sustainable supply chain through the active involvement of employees, suppliers, and partners in a shared journey to reduce environmental impact, with the aim of extending virtuous practices beyond the boundaries of our organization.
  • Offsetting residual emissions through investment in sustainable projects and certified carbon credits: initiatives that allow us to balance emissions that cannot be reduced at the source and support verified environmental projects aimed at generating positive impact.
  • Participation in national and international initiatives dedicated to decarbonization, helping us define goals, monitor progress, and strengthen our climate transition journey:
    • CO2alizione Italia, an association promoting corporate commitment toward achieving net-zero goals, also through the integration of these principles into corporate governance.
    • Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), an international framework supporting companies in setting science-based emissions reduction targets.
    • SME Climate Hub, a global initiative dedicated to SMEs that provides tools and guidelines for measuring, reducing, and monitoring emissions.
    • Race to Zero, a United Nations-backed campaign involving companies, organizations, and institutions committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

These activities are made possible thanks to the support of specialized partners. The collaboration with Treedom — a fellow B Corp — marked the beginning of our environmental strategy: Together, we planted our first forest of 200 baobab trees in Kenya, which is still growing today, and brought the Green Translations concept itself to life. Together with Rete Clima, we are now adding structured management of our carbon footprint to this founding commitment, through measurement, reporting, and offsetting of residual emissions.

To learn more about our approach and to see updated data on our environmental impact, we invite you to read our Integrated Report available on the “Reporting” page and our Organizational Carbon Footprint (CFO), commissioned annually from a third-party organization.

FAQ – Green Translations

Is Green Translations a “carbon neutral” translation service?

Yes — and we have gone beyond that. In 2020, Way2Global achieved carbon neutrality, and starting in 2021, we began an evolutionary journey that led us to become a Carbon Positive company, capable of removing more CO₂ than we generate. Our approach to measuring, reducing, and offsetting emissions is constantly updated, in line with the continuous improvement of the methodologies adopted. For updated information on our calculation methods and the results achieved, we invite you to consult the sustainability documentation available on our website.

What environmental initiatives does Way2Global support?
