Way2Global among six SME finalists at Fertonani Award

Milan, 21 March 2019 – Way2Global founder and CEO Laura Gori has accepted a commemorative plaque on behalf of the company after Way2Global was named among the six SME finalists at the HR Digital Mindset Awards, named after Marco Fertonani.

Organized by the Proper Transearch Group, the awards recognize companies that have excelled at using digital technology in their human resources management in Italy. The aim of the awards is to help promote awareness of how digital innovation can create value in the world of human resources.

Way2Global won recognition for its Translator Engine Alliance (TEA) project, which uses the latest digital technology for social benefit: The aim of the project is to develop an innovative platform and business model that helps nurture our relationships with our community of translators, creating a more collaborative, inclusive working environment and forging new win-win industrial relations among stakeholders in the localisation sector.

Through TEA, Way2Global intends to debunk the myth of a dystopic future in which artificial intelligence replaces human beings — they wish to reverse the demonization of technology that divides agencies and translators.

In line with its mission as a Benefit Corporation, Way2Global intends to use TEA to promote technology transfer, act as a facilitator and create a bridge between the world of research and development in digital technology on the one hand and the end user on the other. And by end user, we mean either professional translators or students and future professionals — all these groups need to be educated about and introduced to digital technology and artificial intelligence if they are to take advantage of the benefits they offer.

Alongside Way2Global, fellow SMEs eFM, Hollister, KaiHros, MEP Group and Talent Garden also made it to the final six. Meanwhile, the Large Companies category included well-known names like Bayer, Coca Cola, Costa Crociere, Heineken, Microsoft, Vodafone and so on.

Way2Global is honoured not only to receive recognition from the Marco Fertonani HR Digital Mindset Awards — whose vision and values we share with equal passion — but also to be named as finalists alongside such an impressive group of brands.
