Way2global among the Regeneration 2030 participants and signatories of the Pledge for a Regenerative Economy<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

On 15 and 16 October, Way2global was among the virtual audience for\u00a0Regeneration 2030<\/strong>, a community of companies, institutions and individuals united by a commitment to develop a regenerative economy through the cooperation of all stakeholders. These champions of renewal are inspired by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations and set to be achieved by 2030.<\/p>\n

In the two days of panels and debates organized by Regeneration 2030, experts from various fields, ranging from business to science, discussed what has been achieved so far and what remains to be done.<\/p>\n

We can evidently no longer turn a blind eye to the issue of\u00a0sustainability<\/strong>: a new economic model must be created that considers the economy as a living system within which all our knowledge can be brought to bear (John Fullerton, Capital Institute).<\/p>\n

Above all, we must change our mentality, both in the business world and in everyday life, to move from a focus on GDP and profit to new sustainable development parameters (Mario Pezzini, OECD).<\/p>\n

To turn this new vision into a shared way of doing business, the private sector must be directly involved in the process of sustainable renewal. In this context, Societ\u00e0 Benefit and B Corps play an essential pioneering role in guiding the way to new best business practices.<\/p>\n

Just as Way2Global has done by establishing itself as a\u00a0Societ\u00e0 Benefit\u00a0<\/strong>and then obtaining\u00a0B Corp<\/strong>\u00a0certification, these regenerative companies have decided to take responsibility for their environmental and social impact by inserting a statement of purpose in their articles of association regarding sustainability, governance and transparency.<\/p>\n

COVID-19<\/strong>\u00a0has been very challenging both for businesses and for our lives in general, but it has also demonstrated that pursuing a sustainable approach benefits society and the company itself.<\/p>\n

Investing in the fight against climate change, and anticipating the legislative framework that has unfortunately not yet been adapted in this regard, has been and will continue to be the best prevention for this and other types of crisis that lie ahead (Maria Paola Chiesi, Shared Value & Sustainability Director, Chiesi Group).<\/p>\n

But how can a company accelerate transition to a regenerative economy?<\/p>\n

Current legislation does not require companies to ensure a responsible, sustainable and transparent supply chain. Regeneration 2030 was founded and intends to act as both a movement and a community, as well as a standard to provide a solid foundation on which to build a regenerative and ethical economy. By adopting a code of conduct, we will be the driving force behind a radical change.<\/p>\n

This is why the\u00a0Regeneration 2030<\/a>\u00a0community has signed a pledge to pursue happiness and collective well-being as economic and political drivers at a global scale. The pledge made by Regeneration 2030 and the signatory companies is primarily based on three points:<\/p>\n
