The 2018 Sustainable Development Festival [Festival dello Sviluppo Sostenibile]: Way2Global’s pledge for innovation and sustainability

Categoria: News

Way2Global took part in the international conference on “SDGs, Climate and the Future of Europe.”

An international conference called “SDGs, Climate and the Future of Europe” was held at the Unicredit Pavilion in Piazza Gae Aulenti, Milan. Organized by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (“ASVIS”), the event offered a chance to dialogue on the path to a sustainable Europe, and to make the European Union a beacon for the rest of the world.

Given the planning to include the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) into the EU’s programs, and those of its member states, a discussion was held on feasible innovations, along with a proposal to join various entities — including European institutions, companies, members of civil society, and members of the “Multi-stakeholder Platform for Sustainable Development” — to give life to policies to tackle the human and environmental challenges that await us in the 21st century.

During the event, a number of key figures from major European institutions took the stage, including First Vice President of the European Commission, Frans Timmermans, President of the European Economic and Social Committee Luca Jahiers, Prime Minister of Italy, Paolo Gentiloni, and the General Manager of the International Labor Organization, Guy Ryder.

Against this backdrop, Way2Global has been a key participant, as a leading instigator for change, with its status as a benefit corporation, providing proof of the company’s commitment to society and sustainability in all its forms.

Way2Global intends to become an ambassador for Italy’s B Corps, the first on an international level to be certified and recognized by statute, to export a model to allow figures in the world of labor and beyond to get on board with the 2030 Agenda, an action plan for sustainable development established in September 2015 by the governments of 193 UN member states.

This is a goal of international breadth that aligns with the company’s mission: to transcend geographic and linguistic borders to allow the world to make a leap forward into a more sustainable future.
